Elena and Anton skated a clean short program, placing behind defending champions Marina Eltsova and Andrei Bushkov. Their long program was clean aside from Anton's fall on the triple toe loop. Completed moves included side-by-side double axels, a triple twist, and a throw triple loop and throw triple salchow. Eltsova and Bushkov both singled their double axels, while third place finishers Oksana Kazakova and Artur Dmitriev skated a clean program, but Elena and Anton held onto second.
