Elena and Anton finished second to Mandy Wotzel and Ingo Steuer of Germany, the world champions, in both the short program and free skate. In the free skate, they completed two throw jumps: a triple loop, landed cleanly, and a triple salchow on which Elena two-footed the landing. They also did side-by-side triple toe loops and side-by-side single axel-double toe loop combinations. Their throw twist had its usual great height, although the landing was somewhat shaky. However, it was great to see them finally turn that double twist into a triple!
